THE PACK Arbor Day activity notice 2022

In response to the national policy call of "carbon peak, carbon neutrality", on the eve of Arbor Day on March 12, The Pack Shanghai Corporation and The Pack Changshu held a afforestation activity on March 9. The activity was held in Shanghai Jiabei suburban Park with 30 participants, and made a contribution to China's ecological construction with practical actions.

The Pack was founded in 1952 in Daigui, Japan. It is a large packaging development and production group in Japan and also a listed enterprise on the main board of Japan. It mainly produces paper bags, cartons and cartons. Deeply aware that these paper bag products consume a large amount of forest resources and cause damage to the ecology, the Group began to carry out environmental protection activities in 1993 and invested part of the Group's annual revenue in forest protection activities. The Group's environmental activities aim to promote the development of safe and environmentally friendly products and technologies, pursue customer satisfaction through environmental activities, and strive to reduce and recycle waste through efficient use of resources and energy. In 2000, the Group set up its own "Environmental Protection Fund" and cooperated with EFF Future Environment Fund to purchase saplings and plant trees. By 2020, the number of employees participating in the tree-planting activities has reached 6,907, planting 20,465 trees, and annual carbon dioxide emissions of 132.71 tons, making an important contribution to environmental ecological construction.

According to Shao Min, director of the Institute of Environment and Climate Studies at Jinan University, the so-called "carbon peak" refers to China's commitment to stop increasing carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and gradually reduce them after reaching the peak. "Carbon neutrality" means that by 2060, all carbon dioxide emissions will be offset by afforestation, energy conservation and emission reduction.

As a large country with a population of 1.4 billion, it is an extremely difficult task for China to offset all the carbon dioxide or greenhouse gas emissions directly or indirectly generated by countries, enterprises, products, activities or individuals within a certain period of time.
