FSC Forest Certification update
(2021.03.15-2026.03.14)
FSC(Forest Stewardship Council),The Forest Stewardship Council, founded in Toronto, Canada, in 1993, is a non-profit organization of 130 representatives from 25 countries.
The mission of the FSC is to promote environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable forest operations. To achieve these goals, it advocates voluntary, independent, third-party certification as the primary means of achieving these goals.
The FSC, as a large organization, does not conduct certification itself. Its primary task is to evaluate, authorize, and monitor authentication entities. Certificators are specifically committed to accepting the FSC's objectives and guidelines and to reflecting them in their certification work. A total of 19 organizations worldwide are authorized to implement FSC certification, seven of which operate in China.
The FSC issues certification to a forest unit after independent review according to the principles and standards, and inspects it at least once every 12 months thereafter. If the forester or forest unit is found to have mismanaged the forest unit, or acted inappropriately against the relevant regulations, the certification can be withdrawn immediately.
By buying wood products with the FSC certification mark, you can avoid buying products derived from endangered tree species or illegal logging, assuring consumers that the products come from forests that meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations, and supporting Greenpeace. Around the world, more than 100 million hectares of forest in 79 countries have been FSC-certified.
The Pack Shanghai Corporation started to use FSC raw materials to produce packaging products in 2011, and is committed to increasing the number of FSC raw materials used every year. The goal is to use more than 90% FSC certified green paper by 2025.
